Below is a list of some of my most recent pretotyping-related writings and videos, followed with some photos and some of Alberto's "vintage" articles and books on Building It Right ... after you are confident that you are building The Right It.
Pretotype It – The Book
4.8 stars on Amazon, 4.3 stars on Goodreads After every single pretotyping seminar or workshop, people came to me and said: "You should write a book about this!" So I did ... sort of. "Pretotype It" is a preto-book. What does that mean? You'll have to read it to find out. The book is available for free as a PDF download or, for the princely price of $0.99, from Amazon. If English is not your first language, you might be in luck. Pretotype It has already been translated into Spanish, Italian, French, German, Swedish, Hebrew, Hungarian, Danish. Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian and other translations are also in the works. Please contact me if you are interested in volunteering to translate Pretotype It into your native language. |
Pretotyping Seminar at Stanford
For the past several years I've been lucky to have had the opportunity to lead many seminars and workshops at Stanford, both for the Graduate School of Business and the d.School (the design school.) These seminars and workshops are offered to executives of already well-established and successful companies, but also to undergraduate and graduate students in business, engineering, design, etc. With Stanford's permission, here's the video from one of my seminars. The audience for this particular one was a group of MBA students. |

Entrepreneurial Innovation at Google – Article
As Google's Innovation Agitator I was often asked about Google's innovation practices. So, in 2011, Patrick Copeland and I co-authored an article on the subject for IEEE Computer. A big part of innovation is change; and some of the things described in the article (e.g. Google's famous 20% time) have changed since the writing of the article, but the basic philosophy and approach are still a big part of the company's DNA.
